| I am home from another week of camping, and I will be leaving again on Friday for the weekend. I have such a busy life. Camp was great as always. I was in charge of the kitchen/dining hall again. For the first couple days I was very stressed because I was sick and nobody would listen to me when I told them to do stuff. On Wednesday night I told my boss that I did not want to have a leadership position any more, but by the end of the week I was really regretting that decision. I talked to her about this and she is going to give me another chance this weekend. Please pray that I will be able to handle the responsibility of this important position and that I won't get too stressed out. We are expecting over 1,000 cub scouts this weekend. (It should be VERY interesting!) Anyways, it is good to be home, even if it is only for a couple of days.

| And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" Luke 2:13-14
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!!

| This past weekend I went on a camping trip with my Venturing group (cooed boy scouts for those who don't know). It was actually a competition called the Broke Back Dog Challenge. (No this does not have anything to do with broke back mountain; Broke Back Dog has been around much longer.) There was a total of eight Venturing groups out there for the weekend. Unfortunately, only three people from my group could show up, so we had a huge disadvantage. We did manage to get second place in one of the eight events. However, because we only have three people, we were not able to participate in two of the events. I had a good time otherwise, and I got to spend the weekend with one of my best friends, so it all worked out. Oh, by the way, I got inducted into a special group called the Jr. Dogs. When you become a member, you get a "dog name". Mine is "blue falcon". I thought that was pretty cool. | | |
| I had another crazy weekend. I participated in the Hands on the Van contest that was put on by the wayfm radio station on Saturday. I stood in the middle of the mall with my hand on a van for 14 hours!! We were not allowed to move our hands at all except when they would rotate us every two hours. For the last four hours we were not allowed to move our feet either. It was one of the most painful experiences of my life. You may be wondering why anyone would be crazy enough to do such a thing as this. Well you see....the grand prize included 21 tickets to wayfest and 21 tickets to wayfest extreem plus limo service , skybox seats, catered food service, and 2 backstage passes to both concerts. Unfortunately, since there were ten people who lasted the whole 14 hours and only one person could win the grand prize, they did a random drawing to determine the winner. I did not win the grand prize, but I did get four tickets to each concert. Anyways, I had a great time and I made lots of new friends,so it was still worth it to go through the pain even though I didn't get the grand prize. The best part of the day was the last two minutes of the contest. They played the song "Praise You in this Storm" by Mercy Me (my favorite song) right at the end, and everyone was cheering and yelling words of encouragement. It was the perfect way to end the day. Even though I am still a little sore, I am glad I did this. It was a great experience for me...but I'm still not sure if I will do it again next year or not. I just need to recooperate from this year first.

| Wow...It was a crazy weekend! For those of you who don't know, I worked at a boy scout camp over the summer. This past weekend I went back up there to work at one of their monthly "mini camps". Since I worked on kitchen staff over the summer they decided to put me in charge of the kitchen and dining hall for the weekend. I had done this the last week of camp during the summer and it didn't turn out to well. This time it wasn't so bad. I had more help and better control over the situation. Even still....this weekend just happend to be ROTC weekend. THAT was interesting! The three groups(about 120 people) would all come into the dining hall in a single file line as there drill sargent yelled commands. Then they would just sit there completely silent until the meal started. (Kind of creepy if you ask me...) Besides that, I wasn't getting much sleep. It took me 4 HOURS just to get up to camp. By the time we got to bed Friday night it was almost one. I barely got any sleep because I had to get up at 5:45 the next morning. Even though the whole weekend was pretty crazy, I still managed to keep things mostly under contol. Anyways...I had tons of fun up there despite the crazyness. I go back up agian right after Christmas for their Winter Camp. I can't wait! I wonder if they will put me in charge again..... | | |
